Sheltered Water Canoe &/or Kayak Coach Discipline Specific Training

The British Canoeing Discipline Specific Training course For the Coach Award.

This course is designed for coaches wanting to operate in Sheltered water.

This training course can be accessed by people wanting to coach in either both Canoes and Kayaks or if you want to work in a single discipline. 

On this intense two-day course, you build on practical coaching in your chosen craft in Sheltered water building on the coaching theory introduced in the British Canoeing Coach Award Core Training Course.

 British Canoeing Coaching Philosophy- Present Coaching theory and practice along with Practical ways to develop paddlers in your chosen discipline.

 

This course is designed to be a Hands-On practical based course backed up with clever modern theory that will be approached in a way that should be understandable without too much time spent in the classroom.

On completion of this course, a candidate will have a clear pathway to assessment. Have the knowledge of how to complete the Coach Award e-learning course and an understanding of what needs to be consolidated and completed before booking.

Equipment

All equipment for this course can be provided however it is normal for candidates to bring their own.

Location

This course can be run from several different locations – Llyn Padarn, Llyn Tegid, or at your suitable venue.

Ratios

The British Canoeing Coach Award – Discipline Specific Training Courses are 2 days long and have a 1 to 4 staff to client Ratio.  There is a minimum of 2  and maximum of 8 candidates on a course. 

Arranged as a team event, 15 of us had a fantastic day on the Aqueducts tour with Andy and his team. High quality equipment, combined with the excellent coaching provided, got even the team members without any experience paddling down the canal relaxed and confidently. All my team would do it again tomorrow!

Core Coach Training

Home Nation Registration

Valid 1 day First Aid

You Need:

Paddle sports equipment can be provided.

Bring your own equipment if preferred. Paper ad Pen Computer if required.

Lunch & Refreshments.
