Become a Paddlesports Coach

The British Canoeing Coach Award is designed for Paddlers to be able to pick their own Paddlesports Discipline and get qualified as easily as possible. It is direct entry starting with the Core Coach Training then the option to pick the Discipline Specific Training (DST) of their choice depending on the what leadership qualifications are already in place. 

4 Days Of Training 1-day Assessment

After 4 days of training, you will also need a valid First Aid,  Child protection, complete a discussion task along with a supplementary E-learning course. This is all achievable and will help guide you in the correct direction. Once you have enough experience of putting the theory into practice you can present for a friendly one-day assessment.  

What to expect

During the training courses, you will be introduced to the British Canoeing Coaching Philosophy, Present  Coaching theory and practice along with practical ways to develop paddlers in your chosen discipline.

This course is designed to be a Hands-On practical based course backed up with clever modern theory that will be approached in a way that should be understandable without too much time spent in the classroom. The training courses are then backed up the E-learning through British Canoeing.

These courses can be used as a stand-alone two-day course used to improve coaching practice, they count as 3-year CPD or Coach update for your present coaching qualifications awards.

Those who completed the previous Level 2 UKCC Training but their training ran out now have the chance to come back into the system. Get in touch if you would like some advice on this.
