We had age ranges from 65 down to 4. Brilliant trip organised by Ty Nant outdoors. Very professional outfit, great people, Andy and Warwick friendly and great teachers. Could not ask for a better day. Would recommend it to all.
Upon arrival, we had a warm welcome from our two instructors. Friendly and relaxed but they certainly know their stuff. Warwick’s CV of expeditions is as long as your arm and there is no doubting his knowledge. The pace of the morning suited us really well. We had an awesome time and opened up a new avenue of future adventures. A great experience from booking through to debrief!

Well what a day, took my 13 yr old with ADHD and ASD, didn’t know what to expect! Was met by a fabulous instructor called Naomi who was just perfect! 3 hours on the water and we both loved every minute of it! Nothing was too much for her even when my son tried to tip her in, can’t thank these guys enough! Lovely day and will definitely return, Naomi was a top instructor :-)”
I made a general enquiry to Andy about courses and from the outset really friendly and informative. Decided on the WWSR course, the way he delivered it was awesome – we didn’t sit in one place or around a table for too long, we’re kayakers and most the course was delivered in kayaks or on the bank. A really friendly course covering a lot more than just the BCU prospectus. Looking forward to booking my next course with Andy.
Andy organised a bespoke 2 day white water trip for us. We both had very little previous kayaking experience and none on white water and Andy tailored the weekend to our needs, making it a good mix of technical work and fun rapids. Andy was a great bloke, very conscientious and knowledgeable and made us feel safe while encouraging us to challenge ourselves. Would fully recommend.
We visited Llangollen just to canoe over the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct with Ty Nant and it was a fabulous morning – well worth the stop. The entire paddle was enjoyable and the instructor friendly and helpful. The trip was tailored to match our abilities. Couldn’t recommend this highly enough if you are in the area.
Went white water kayaking today with my dad, who hasn’t been for 30 years! Andy was very attentive, and my dad and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We will be back!

Alongside many other companies Ty Nant could be mistaken for just another outdoor company. However that just wouldn’t do them justice! The level of detail that goes into everything from the booking to the equipment and instructional input is excellent. The kit is new and they have lots of sizes available. They had different models of Kayak and paddles to try out and little things like a trailer to get changed in (which made a big but yet often forgotten difference!) I’ve gotten changed in …
Plenty of communication before the booking and lots conversations over the phone to talk about what our group wanted out of the day even before we got there was reassuring and had a very personal feel to it.
