Rebranded from the Level One coach, The Paddlesports Instructor is an ideal assistant coach perfect for Activity Centre staff and club coach assistants.
This action-packed 4-day course develops a 2-star paddler into well structured and capable assistant coach on very sheltered waters.
Run by industry leading professionals with years of experience coaching in all disciplines. We will make this course fun and enlightening allowing you to leave fresh thinking and improved.
The award is non-discipline specific and is appropriate for anyone new to coaching canoe sports.
You will learn how to pass your knowledge on in very sheltered waters. This will set you up to improve your skills in coaching through the guidance of the more experienced.
- Be at least 16 years old on the first day of the course
- Understand the basics of manoeuvring a canoe or kayak, through participation in the sport or from observation
- BCU 2 Star
- Foundation Safety and Rescue Training (FSRT)
This course can be run from several different locations -Our favourite places to run them are from Glan Llyn, in Bala or Snowdonia Watersports in Llanberis. Both professional facilities with views to die for.
We often travel to run this course for groups at your suitable venue.
Once completed a level one coach can complete either a Level Two Coach Award to be able to run more structured coaching sessions or complete the Paddlesports Leader Award to become an independent coach on sheltered waters with level one behaviour.
